Best of the
cats
The cats
were certainly a highlight with several prides of lion, cheetah
and even an elusive leopard.
The Bila Shaka
lion pride
Also known as the Marsh Pride of Big Cat Diary fame with over 20
lion including 13, they were fascinating to watch. We found the pride
on a couple of different drives and were fortunate to be with them
as they became active in the great light of the setting sun.
Princess and her cubs
On our very first morning
drive on the Mara, we saw Princess, a female cheetah
and her 3 cubs. Over the next three hours we witnessed her stalk,
chase, kill and feed on a Grant's gazelle. Check out the
chase through
a sequence of these images.
An
inexperienced leopard
After several unsuccessful trips to Leopard Gorge we ventured
further south and found a beautiful young and slightly inexperienced
male
leopard.
